Altai Branch of RANEPA

The Altai branch of RANEPA appeared in 2001. According to the decree of President-Rector of the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation for the first ten years it existed as the Altai branch of the Siberian Academy of Public Administration (SAPA).

In 2010, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed decree № 1140 “On Education of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation”. The purpose of creating an entirely new and unique institution of higher education is designated by the decree as: “... to improve the educational, scientific, organizational and methodological framework to be used for the training of highly qualified personnel for management of state, public and private sectors”.

The new university was formed by combining the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, and 12 educational institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science. SAPA became one of the united universities, and changed its name to the Altai branch of RANEPA. Most often we are called Presidential Academy for short. The reason is: as part of the new educational institution of higher education the branch became a university, which is designed to carry out the tasks set by the President and the Government of Russia. Today we successfully train personnel for state and municipal governments, and our graduates are future employees and leaders of various sectors of the national economy.
