Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics

The Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics provides training in direction of training 40.03.01 “Law”, profile - criminal law.

The main task facing the department is to prepare lawyers-professionals who meet modern requirements, ensuring compliance with the law in the criminal law activities of law enforcement agencies and public authorities, developing legal and procedural documents, providing qualified legal advice, and having the necessary qualification, knowledge and skills for prevention, uncovering of crimes, preliminary investigation and consideration of criminal cases in court, interpretation and application of regulations, definitions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and the decisions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.

The educational process at the department is provided by highly qualified teaching staff with academic degrees and / or having practical experience in the disciplines taught. The disciplines assigned to the lecturers of the department include the criminal process, criminology, forensic medicine and psychiatry, forensic examination, overcoming activities impeding crime investigation, prosecution supervision, a lawyer in the criminal process, law enforcement agencies, etc.

In the educational process, lecturers of the department use not only traditional formats: lectures and seminars (including on-site), but also interactive teaching methods. In particular, teachers of the department widely use multimedia technologies, e-learning systems (“Virtual inspection of the scene”), reference and legal systems “Garant”, “Consultant Plus”, resources of electronic libraries and the Internet. Also, for students in the direction of  “Jurisprudence” classes are held in the form of business role games in pre-trial proceedings, court sessions, law-making processes, round tables, disputes, discussions, debates, etc.

To ensure and improve the educational process in the disciplines of the department in the Altai Branch of RANEPA, a forensic class and a courtroom class have been created and are successfully functioning. On-site classes are conducted on the basis of the units of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the State Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Altai Territory (police departments, the Main Investigation Department, the forensic center, the regional center of cynological service, etc.), UFSIN of Russia in the Altai Territory, the Altai Regional Court, Federal Service of Court Bailiffs.
